Welcome to my first blog at Exquisitely Me!
My name is Robin and I'm super excited to be able to share my knowledge and experience with you concerning problems with low self-esteem. I was a victim of this terrible disorder for many years. Being trapped in depression and hopelessness was a norm for me, stemming from rejection as a child and physical ailments...(you can read more about it on my bio page at www.exquisitelyme.com.) So, I find it only appropriate that due to my ambition and my desire to help people with low-self esteem deficiencies, I begin my blog by writing about the characteristics and consequences of low self-esteem. And some of the long lasting affects that it has on people. This is a HUGE topic so I will only be able to scrape the surface. However, since I have decided to commit my future to writing and helping women escape this chronic condition you will be able to stay in touch with me through my blogs, website or email.
Self-esteem is a significant problem, not only in the states or in western culture but worldwide! 85% of the world's population suffers with self-esteem issues! And I think it's about time that something is done about this problem, or better defined as an EPIDEMIC! We live in a world of modern technology and social media, which predominately generates a negative impact into society, and worse yet, our children!
Isn't it time, that we take the lead in establishing a positive impact with the tools and resources that we are being given? We are losing our youth and our culture to a false idea of what the definition of being a successful, beautiful person really means!
Common manifestations of self-esteem is:
Low self-esteem can lead to mental health problems!
Negative thinking patterns associated with low self-esteem, such as assuming you will fail at things you do, can develop over time and inevitably lead to mental health problems such as depression or anxiety.
Low self-esteem can make it hard to try new things or complete tasks, such as starting a new hobby or completing a job application. It will also affect career choices or advancement in a current job. This typically stops you from living your life the way you really want to live it and leads to even more frustration and depression over time.
You might not know it, but low self-esteem is not only bad for your emotional health but also your physical health!
The negative emotions that come with low self-esteem, weakens your immune system and increases the levels of inflammation. These factors have been associated with heart disease.
Having low self-esteem increases stress and leads to unhealthy behaviors such as smoking, drug or alcohol abuse. And instead trying to improve health by eating properly and exercising which will in turn increase self esteem levels, people tend to remain inactive and passive.
The consequences of unresolved low self-esteem issues can have life-long, debilitating effects on your life and your health. But you can make a choice NOT to continue living a life of hopelessness. There is a better way to live! First, you must make the decision to make that about-face. And as that desire grows within you, your determination will grow, enabling you to set into motion complete transformation! I went through this process and came out victorious and YOU CAN TOO!
Are you ready to say...
I am clothed with strength and dignity, and I laugh without fear of the future?
With love and blessings,
