Who do you dream of being?

Who do you DREAM of being?

Every girl has her idol. Someone that she loves and even feels like she can relate to and desires to be like. Mine was "I Dream of Jeannie"! I just loved her mischievous smile, blonde silky hair and perfect curvy figure. And the fact that she could blink and cause things to happen just mesmerized me! ;) In all honestly, I used to go around crossing my arms and nodding my head in hopes that I could make all my dreams appear...
I REALLY thought that if I practiced enough, I would receive that special magical gift that she had! Sorry to say, that wish never came true...pun intended! She was a fantasy figure, make believe, not real!

False identity

It's no different with the models and the celebrities that the young girls chase after today. They are so incited by the fake allure that media displays. They are chasing after fantasy figures that are NOT real! In fact, in the times that we are living in, with advanced technology, it's become easier and easier to fool the people into believing that these perfect people exist. My husband has a good friend that's a model. His friend says that after his photo shoot, which is by the way in his underwear, he receives a copy of his photo once it goes to print. And he is in shock of how different he looks! He says that they change it so much, it's to the point he cannot recognize himself! They add clothes, muscles and change his features to create the perfect man.

Media tickery

The trickery that the media uses are ruining people, young and old. It distorts their perception of what is real and what is fantasy. It is creating a wave of low-self esteem that leads to eating disorders, excessive overspending on things we NEED to purchase to be like the idol, unnecessary cosmetic procedures and sexual identity problems. While the companies selling these things are getting rich, the consumers are losing their souls.

Teach purpose

Although it is very difficult to change what the media is doing, we can educate the public and the young people that we know. We can teach the younger and older generations that believe these lies that are being sold, that we are individuals and are perfect and beautiful, exactly how we are. We do not need to strive to be someone that we're not and can never be. We need to learn how to value our existence and accept and love how we are created. We need good role models, real role models, real people that illuminate in confidence and in true beauty. People that refuse to compromise to live a life of false identity. To learn how and why we are created is the beginning. As we discover our God-given purpose and allow it to trickle down and pass it on to others. We need a true self-identity revolution!

With Love and Blessings,
Robin
